Australia has unveiled plans to declare one third of the Great Barrier Reef a no-fishing zone in a bid to protect the area's fragile eco-system and a lucrative tourist industry. I am sure the fishing industry opose due to job loss, but is it worth it?
I think that the protection of the reef will aid in technology and medical advances in the furture. Sure job loss will have a great effect on the people of the east coast, but the rewards outweigh the negatives.

MPA guidelines should be implemented in order to protect the reef. It is a long term goal....
